No, we are not a riding school.
We run sessions every half term holidays but we do not teach and we never let them g0!
What we aim to offer is good all round fun, giving the children a fantastic experience building their confidence and balance and knowledge of these wonderful animals, incorporating fun themes and activities based around the ponies.
A taste of the out door life, teaching responsibility and team work.
Everything we do is on lead rein, with an experienced handler by your child’s side.
We like to keep the fun aspect that riding schools don’t always offer, something a little different, when they want to do more they can then go on to be let go at a riding school.
We say 2 years and upwards, as long as our younger riders are happy to wear a safety hat and listen to our instruction they can have a pony ride.
Our experienced handlers are happy for you to walk alongside and help support any unbalanced wobbly little ones.
The children remain the parents responsibility at all times, unless you have arranged with the parents of the birthday boy or girl, that they are responsible.
You can drop and go but if you wish us to be in care of your child then you must fill in our consent / registration form. This applies on our all day fun days also.
Of course this depends on what package/ experience you have booked.
Each party at Pampered Ponies allows 30 mins on site for you to stay and have your food and birthday cake, either in our party caravan or on warm summer days we can put out haybales and gazebos for you to eat out doors in one of our paddocks. You may book extra time if you wish at extra cost.
The rest is pure pony fun, grooming, decorating, riding and games.
Offsite at your venue again is pure pony or unicorn time.
Lots of fun!
We will have miniature ponies for the children to groom and decorate, ponies to ride, lots of fun games in the longer package, some on the ponies, some pony themed on foot…the list is endless.
We gauge the childrens confidence as we go along and go with games suited to the group, their age and their braveness, but again depends on what package or experience you have booked.
Enclosed shoes, something you don’t mind getting a bit muddy/dirty!
We suggest wellies/ boots or on hot summer days an old pair of trainers.
Leggings or trousers so their legs don’t get rub whilst riding.
Dress appropriately for the weather, always better to be too warm and be able to peel the layers off when required! Be prepared for the unexpected and pack the waterproofs!
Wellies and waterproofs at the ready………parents worst nightmare……but from previous experience the kids don’t care!!
We are happy to continue whatever the weather, as long as its safe to do so.
Grooming at Pampered Ponies can be done in the stables for shelter, but ultimately the pony ride is outside in the fields.
It is advisable if the party is at your home to have a wet weather plan.
A gazebo, garage or marquee to provide shelter for grooming is always a good idea.
